This year’s switch-on fun (on November 21st) kicked off with tasty craft activities for children in the library, then it was out onto Wilmslow Road for the countdown to Christmas!  We had live music from Manchester Contemporary Youth Choir and festive fun hosted by our brilliant MC, Andrew Simcock. Becky and the team at Little Pigs Butcher on Wilmslow Road scooped the trophy for Didsbury’s Christmassiest shop window, then Jayne Crawshaw and Carol Thompson shared the switch-on honours. Drinks and nibbles, kindly provided by local traders, added to the seasonal cheer.

Then it was all round to our favourite home-from-home, Home Community Cafe,  for mulled wine, hot chocolate, cupcakes, mince pies and tasty treats.

Our Christmas switch-on was organised by Didsbury Community Association in partnership with Didsbury Traders. Thanks to Didsbury Civic Society, Didsbury Blues in the Community, Didsbury councillors and our sound technician, the brilliant Mitchell Brough.

And thanks too, to all the Didsbury All-stars – local people and businesses who have contributed time and/or money to light up Didsbury!
